State Fire is a well-established firm, specializing in a broad range of fire safety services including fire alarm systems, alarm monitoring, kitchen fire suppression, special hazards clean agent systems, security, card access, nurse call systems, fire sprinklers, and fire extinguishers.

Originally a small team of three, State Fire has expanded into a significant regional provider, serving clients across Idaho, Utah, Nevada, Arizona, Oregon, Texas, Colorado, and Wyoming. Today, State Fire boasts over 150 skilled professionals, including managers and licensed technicians.

We are currently seeking a Heavy Equipment Fire Suppression Technician. The responsibilities of this role include:

  • Conducting inspections and performing maintenance on fire suppression systems fitted on various heavy equipment such as draglines and forklifts, following manufacturers’ guidelines.
  • Disassembling and replacing parts of the fire suppression system as needed.
  • Installing new fire suppression systems according to manufacturer instructions on heavy machinery.
  • Undertaking tasks such as mounting components, cutting and fitting hoses, and attaching necessary fittings.
  • Repairing, servicing, and recharging fire suppression systems, which includes dismantling and reassembling components, inspecting for failures, and replacing defective parts.
  • Cleaning out system hoses.

Position Requirements:

  • Proficient in the use of standard hand and battery-operated tools.
  • Basic computer and software skills, along with a familiarity with mobile devices and apps.
  • Capable of working autonomously or under minimal supervision.
  • Effective communication skills in English, applicable to all levels of interaction within the company, including with customers.
  • Dedicated to providing excellent customer service.
  • Flexible work schedule and availability for on-call duties as per company scheduling.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Successful pass of a National Criminal Background Check.

Physical Demands:

  • This job typically requires sitting, standing, kneeling, crouching, and stooping for extended periods.
  • It necessitates the ability to drive and visit various sites, which may include climbing ladders, scaffolding, and navigating tight spaces.
  • The role involves lifting objects up to 70 pounds independently.
  • Work can be both indoors and outdoors.
